Daniel Oweetaluktuk Kasudlak – His Story

Daniel lives in Inukjuak. In the 1950’s some of his relatives were relocated to the High Arctic.

We are called the left behind. I knew everyone who left. I am also left behind.

I saw the relocatees on the ship, waving like this. I was near tears.

When they got relocated, they left a large gap. Sometimes after they had gone, we were really hungry. “
